For the fourth time in five years, the Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes and company punched their ticket to the big game by outlasting the Baltimore Ravens in what proved to be a defensive slug-fest, with the Chiefs coming out on top 17–10.

While Kansas City walked away with the win, mistakes and missed opportunities throughout the game by Baltimore gave the feeling that the Ravens beat themselves more than anything else.

Baltimore were called for several penalties that come down to nothing more than mental mistakes—a taunting call that erased 15 yards off of their biggest play of the game and a few roughing the passer calls that no ref could swallow their whistle on stood out above the rest.

The biggest mental mistake of the night came from wide receiver Zay Flowers, who fumbled the football as he reached out for the goal line, turning what looked like a surefire touchdown for the Ravens into a touchback to start the fourth quarter.

One more mistake all but ended the comeback effort from the Ravens, with Jackson throwing an interception in the red zone late in the fourth quarter.

For the Chiefs, Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce shined once again, with the duo connecting on 11 passes for 116 yards and a score.

Kansas City now heads to Las Vegas with the chance to become the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the New England Patriots of 2004 and ‘05.
