The Invisible Man star Aldis Hodge has shared his insight into the potential for The Invisible Man 2 to get made. In the 2020 adaptation of the H.G. Wells novel of the same name, Hodge starred as James Lanier, a longtime friend of Cee Kass (Elisabeth Moss), who believes she is being tormented by her supposedly dead abusive partner (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) who can seemingly become invisible. Although the movie’s theatrical release was cut short by shutdowns during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was a smash hit, earning $144.5 million against its $7 million budget.

Screen Rant had the opportunity to sit down with Aldis Hodge for an interview. During the conversation, Hodge revealed that “I haven’t heard any updates” about the possible Invisible Man 2. While he jokes about the unusual route a sequel’s story might have to take, he says that getting to return to that world would be “awesome” and he would be “definitely down” to do a sequel if it ever got greenlit. Read his full quote below:

No, I haven’t heard any updates. I know people were talking about it, I was like, “Who’s gonna be the invisible person. Is it gonna be The Invisible Baby? Like what are we doing?” No, I’m kidding. [Laughs] If they did a sequel, I think that’d be awesome. Leigh Whannell is amazing, working with him was just fantastic, and his sort of knack for suspense and drawing that out. I think he can write a play book on that, so if that was something — and Elisabeth Moss, she’s great. We had a really nice time on that, so yeah, if there was a sequel, I’m definitely down, but I haven’t heard any murmurings since.

The Invisible Man

Inspired by H.G. Well’s novel of the same name, The Invisible Man is a modern retelling of the sci-fi horror classic. After narrowly escaping her abusive and powerful tech mogul boyfriend (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss) is relieved to hear of his death. However, she soon becomes convinced that he’s watching her, and little by little, she comes to believe that he’s found a way to not only cheat death but the laws of reality, too.
