New actors for Batman and Wonder Woman get pitched in new DC Universe fan art as they join forces with David Corenswet’s Superman. 2023 marked the end of the DCEU timeline that began in 2023 with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, finishing its run a decade later. As James Gunn and Peter Safran are busy working on getting their new DC Universe up and running, the world is actively waiting to learn who will be cast as the iconic Justice League heroes.

DC Studios have already found its new Man of Tomorrow, as Corenswet will lead the Superman: Legacy cast in 2025. However, with Batman and Wonder Woman still not cast yet for the DC Universe, SmartSheepArt shared new fan art of who should complete the trio alongside Corenswet’s Superman.

In this scenario, Adria Arjona and Jensen Ackles are proposed as the new Wonder Woman and Batman for Gunn’s DC Universe. Both Arjona and Ackles have been regular popular candidates when it comes to fan casting for the Themysciran heroine and the Dark Knight respectively.

What Is Going On With Batman & Wonder Woman In James Gunn’s DC Universe?

When it comes to Batman and Wonder Woman at DC Studios, there are some plans in motion already for them in the DC Universe. The Brave and The Bold is currently being developed as a new reboot for the Caped Crusader, with The Flash movie director Andy Muschietti helming the film. According to Gunn, the story for The Brave and The Bold will center on Bruce Wayne discovering that he has a biological son with Talia al Ghul, as Damian Wayne, a.k.a. Robin, makes his live-action debut.

On the small screen, Max and DC Studios are working on a Wonder Woman prequel TV show, Paradise Lost. Set to have a Game of Thrones-esque tone, Paradise Lost takes place before Diana Prince is born, following the larger history of Themyscira, how they became a society, and their inner politics. Presumably, characters like Wonder Woman’s mother, Hippolyta, will be featured in Paradise Lost among other Amazons.

As of right now, Gunn has not revealed a Wonder Woman movie to be in the works, although it might be one of the secret Chapter 1 films.

Time will tell how the DC Universe’s take on Batman and Wonder Woman will be in comparison to iterations that were featured in the DCEU. With Diana and Bruce being just as iconic as Clark, it will be interesting to see who ends up joining Corenswet’s Superman as part of the holy DC trinity. Hopefully, as DC Studios get further into 2024, they will have their new Batman for the DC Universe while also clarifying where Wonder Woman fits into the continuity.
