The comic book movie sequel Venom 3 is due to land in theaters later this year, and while we are still thin on details, star Juno Temple has revealed what it’s like working on the Sony/Marvel movie. In a recent interview with Variety, Temple said she was “excited” to see what the movie looks like on the big screen once the CGI is complete. See what she had to say about Venom 3 below…

“I’m learning lots. It’s fun and interesting, because there are so many things that you film that when the movie finally comes out will look different to what they were when we were filming them. I’m excited to see the creations that happen off camera, too.”

Juno Temple, who most recently starred in the fifth season of Fargo, joins Tom Hardy as both Eddie Brock and Venom, and Doctor Strange star Chiwetel Ejiofor who, like Temple, has been cast in an undisclosed role.

Tom Hardy recently announced his return to the set of Venom 3 after production was ground to a halt due to the actors’ strike. After 118 days of strike, and arduous weeks of negotiation after the end of the writers’ strike, AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA reached an agreement in November, and many of the productions that had to be paused have now resumed filming. And Venom 3 is one of them. On his Instagram page, Tom Hardy shared a second celebratory image from the set, and this time he was ready to heap raise on the movie’s director Kelly Marcel. In his post he wrote:

“The Last dance – thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic Cast and crew- good friends and family – we’ve come a long way – it’s been and continues to be a lot of fun this journey there’s always hard turns to burn when we work but doesn’t feel as hard when you love what you do and when you know you have great material and the support at all sides, of a great team.

“I want to mention very briefly how proud of my Director, writing partner and dear friend Kelly Marcel I am. watching you taking the helm on this one fills me with pride, it is an honour.

“Here’s to a great ride!!!”

Venom 3 is currently slated to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. That’s probably the reason why it has returned to set so soon, in order to meet the release date. Details about the film’s plot are currently being kept under wraps, but following the post-credits scenes of Venom: Let There be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home, it seems unlikely that the story will be exploring the multiverse as originally believed. There is still a lot of speculation over how Hardy’s anti-hero will adjust back to life in his own world after his very brief MCU appearance, and it is likely that we will not have any official confirmation of the story for a while yet.

Joining Hardy, who will reprise the role of Eddie Brock, will be Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, but their roles have not been revealed yet. New cast members are expected to be announced now that filming has resumed.

Sony Pictures Will Dominate the Superhero Film Scene in 2024

While Marvel Studios and DC will only be able to present two releases on the big screen next year, Deadpool 3 and Joker: Folie à Deux, Sony Pictures will have three films for its fans to enjoy. The first one will be Madame Web, Dakota Johnson’s debut in the genre. The story centers on Cassandra Webb, a paramedic who has clairvoyant abilities. Her visions connect her with three young women who are destined for greatness, but to be able to live that future, they must survive a present that could end their lives. Joining Johnson are Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Moner, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Adam Scott, Tahar Rahim, and Alana Monteiro. The film is directed by S. J. Clarkson, and hits theaters on February 14.

Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor Johnson as the popular Spider-Man villain, will be released on August 30. The plot focuses on Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff, his complicated story and his journey towards becoming the best hunter in the world, regardless of the consequences. Joining Taylor-Johnson are Russell Crowe, Alessandro Nivola, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, Jessica Zhou, and Murat Seven among many others. The movie is directed by J. C. Chandor.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was also originally scheduled to be released next year, but unfortunately, the latest installment in Sony’s animated saga has fallen off the schedule due to various production delays, so it doesn’t have a release date yet. It is unknown when it will finally hit theaters, but it’ll probably be in 2025 or even 2026.
