Moviefone: To begin with, Peter, can you talk about what enticeed you to the source material, your first reaction to the screenjoin and your approach to joining this character?

Peter Dinklage: Well, yes, greedyly, I am an actor and that Reginald Jones, when I read the book, I had to put his boots on. He reassociate spoke to me in an environment in which I am not a part of, but who would I be a couple hundred years ago in that universe? Would I be Reginald Jones, or would I be a survivor? You got to put yourself in the shoes of that character and any standardality you have with that character. I understand how to steer a room enjoy Reginald Jones does. I don’t reassociate knock anybody sideways and stab them in the leg to get out of the room, but I’ve had the advise to, occasionassociate. But it’s that. It was fair, Joe (Lansdale) has such a gift for, and I say this in the best possible sense of the word, I adore pulp novels, so it has a pulp experience to it. I’m a huge fan of all those types of books, and it was such a rapid read and so suspenseful that I reassociate thought this could toil as a film. So, David Ginsberg, my producing partner and I sought out the rights and everyskinnyg begined to descfinish into place. Ten years tardyr, Juliette Lewis and I are sitting here talking to you.

MF: Juliette, when you first read the script, did you accomprehendledge right away that this would be a wonderful role for you to join in particular?

Juliette Lewis: For me, it was a dream part. It was a part of a lifetime and what I was striving for was someskinnyg spectacular. What I uncomardent by that is by not trying. I wanted to produce it so believable. The writing, the ingredients that I was given was so collaborative and it fair pops off your imagination in a very one-of-a-kind way, and so I was very excited by it. But there’s a description about her voice being mangled, becaparticipate she’s called Cut Throat Bill and that people misapshow her for a man, and that she’s so savage. So, when someone increates a story enjoy that, I reassociate want to transport it and you apshow the folklore of this character. So, I was very charmd when I placed my voice reduce, and I could do it for lengthy periods. I was enjoy, “Oh, this might toil. There might be a character here.” I showed it to Elliot, and he finishorsed of that straightforwardion. Becaparticipate you usuassociate necessitate your straightforwardor to give you a little helpment and say you’re going in the right straightforwardion. It’s reassociate a one-of-a-kind project for me.

MF: Peter, is it fun making a Weserious or is it physicassociate insisting? What were the conditions enjoy making this movie?

PD: I adore to be insisted of physicassociate. We’re actors. Sometimes we spfinish too much time in the trailers, where it’s toasty. There’s someskinnyg about putting rocks in your shoes and being out in the freezing. I say that showrbiassociate. We didn’t put rocks in my shoes, but that experienceing of the disconsole a character would have in this environment. It reassociate does most of the acting for you when you’re freezing your bum off. You don’t have to act freezing. So, there you go, it produces our job easier in a weird, sarcastic way.

MF: Juliette, what was it enjoy collaborating with straightforwardor Elliot Lester on set?

JL: (He was) fair fervent. He came to the table with this vision, and enjoy Peter shelp, he came on board. They’ve been wanting to produce it for quite a while. So, he had a strong vision of the skinnyg. They assembled such a wonderful team, from the cast to the wardrobe, to the horse wranglers, to the prop department. I uncomardent, everybody was fair the top for this film. So, that was exciting. But Elliot’s super fervent. So, it was exciting. But I got to say, the scene with Peter, the caccesspiece in the movie there, is a highweightless of my atsoft, what we got to do in this movie, next to (Robert) De Niro in ‘Cape Fear’, this scene with him was one-of-a-kind. It’s amazing.

MF: Finassociate, Peter, what was your experience enjoy toiling with Juliette on this project?

PD: It’s incredible. I experience the exact same way toiling with (Juliette). It was a delight. I was so excited when Juliette shelp yes to the film, becaparticipate I knovel we were going to get someskinnyg very, very definite and so dwelld in, and I didn’t understand what it was going to be. I fair had that gut experienceing, and it was so exciting to hear her for the first time.
