The US has launched strikes against targets in Syria and Iraq a week after three troops were killed and dozens were wounded in a drone attack on a military base in Jordan.
Washington blamed the attack on Tower 22, near the Syrian border, on Iran-backed militants.
On Wednesday, Sky News’ US partner network NBC News reported the US response could form a “campaign”, which could include strikes and cyber operations, that could last for weeks.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have previously said they will respond to any US threat.
It comes amid continued Houthi attacks on merchant shipping in the Red Sea, which has seen the US and UK launch retaliatory strikes targeting the group’s anti-ship missiles.
