Ever since the news of the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot with Selena Gomez hit the internet, the spark of hope for other Disney shows to receive revivals has been reignited. Even though Disney Channel has been going through a rough patch in terms of producing hit teen series, there are plenty of beloved classic shows that no one is ready to say goodbye to yet. Some series have been given a chance to wrap up their storylines nicely, but others haven’t been so lucky. For instance, Girl Meets World was canceled after season 3 despite receiving critical acclaim.

Disney has attempted to revive its other shows before. That’s So Raven ended up getting two spinoffs, and the latest one has even outlived the original show — Raven’s Home season 7 is one of the most highly anticipated releases. If the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot lives to tell the tale and proves to be the success that Disney expects it to be, it might pave the road for other series, which have either been prematurely canceled for this or that reason or are believed to have a lot of potential and stories to tell.

The way a pilot sets the tone and introduces the characters matters in the long run, and some episodes, likes Supernatural’s pilot, are exemplary.

10 The Suite Life On Deck

What are Zack & Cody up to?

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody was such a grand success that it immediately received a spinoff, and The Suite Life on Deck flawlessly continued the Martin twins’ adventures for three more seasons. The show ended with Zack and Cody graduating from high school, leaving the brothers with a world of opportunities before them. A revival series could focus on Zack and Cody, who are all grown-up and have families of their own — it sounds unbelievable, but the Martin twins have entered their 30s, so they are old enough to be parents.

9 Lizzie McGuire

Are Lizzie, Miranda & Gordo still friends?

Lizzie McGuire with Her Animated Version

Lizzie McGuire may have been short-lived, but its unique take on teen experiences made the series truly iconic. Disney tried to reboot the show, but the project was ultimately canceled, as it was becoming more mature than the company anticipated. However, the Lizzie McGuire reboot would have catered to its original audiences, who have grown up with the characters, and the show deserves another try. Hopefully, the concept can be reworked to suit the needs of a family show, and Lizzie, accompanied by Miranda and Gordo, will get a chance to shine on the small screen once more.

New details about certain storylines from the scrapped Lizzie McGuire reboot reignite the disappointment in Disney’s decision to cancel the show.

8 Good Luck Charlie

Have Teddy’s videos helped Charlie?

Teddy and Amy Looking Happy in the Snow in Good Luck Charlie

Good Luck Charlie was one of the few Disney shows that was about a regular family, and its appeal lied in the characters themselves. In the finale, Teddy did her last video diary entry for Charlie before going away to college, and that ending is the perfect opportunity for a reboot. The series could focus on Charlie, who is now about 15 years old, the same age that Teddy was in season 1, and she could use Teddy’s videos as a guide to live out her teenhood or declare them completely useless, depending on the situation.

7 Jessie

Has Jessie made it in Hollywood?

Emma and Jessie Smiling at Each Other in Jessie

While the Jessie reboot would be inherently sad without Cameron Boyce’s Luke, it could still be an amazing follow-up show about Jessie and the rest of the Rosses. The series does already have an ongoing spinoff, Bunk’d, but it could do with another reboot. Since Jessie‘s finale saw Jessie depart for Hollywood where she was set to star in a show about a superhero nanny, a revival could explore whether Jessie achieved her dream. Nine years later, Jessie would’ve become the new Christina Ross and had a family of her own — perhaps she would’ve hired a nanny for her children.

6 Girl Meets World

Boy Meets World‘s characters were lucky to have their story carried onto Girl Meets World in some capacity since this was where some of them, especially Shawn, received their well-deserved happy endings. However, Riley and Maya were becoming teenagers fast, and Disney was worried that its main target audience wouldn’t be interested in seeing their young adult journeys. In reality, a Girl Meets World reboot could perfectly mirror Boy Meets World‘s later seasons — Riley and Maya would be in college or fresh out of it, living their lives to the fullest and learning new, more mature life lessons.

5 K.C. Undercover

Is K.C. still a spy?

K.C. Sings Next to Marisa in K.C. Undercover

K.C. Undercover was one of the most underrated Disney shows. The Zendaya-led series followed K.C., a teenage girl whose entire family were spies, as she coped with her double life. The finale saw K.C. and her best friend, Marisa, start college, but the young spy intended to keep doing her secret service job as well. A reboot could follow the newly graduated K.C., as she attempts to have a normal job while still going on missions. This scenario would allow the show to keep the playful dynamic of the original and have an unusual hook.

4 Shake It Up

Have CeCe & Rocky carried on dancing?

Shake It Up centered on CeCe and Rocky, two inseparable friends who danced on a local show and dreamed of becoming professional performers. Seeing as 11 years have passed since the finale aired, both CeCe and Rocky could have done quite well for themselves in the dance industry — hopefully, they managed to keep their friendship intact while gaining international fame. A reboot could shift the focus to CeCe and Rocky’s Hollywood adventures or have the characters become instructors on another local dance show, where they would guide aspiring performers to success.

3 Austin & Ally

Have Austin & Ally’s children joined the family business?

Austin & Ally Looking in the Mirror at Themselves

Austin & Ally‘s finale revealed that the will-they-won’t-they couple couldn’t stay away from each other after all, so they ended up tying the knot and starting a family. Sadly, this all happened off-screen and was casually mentioned after a time jump. A reboot could take place between the first and the second time jumps and focus on how Austin and Ally found their way back to each other. This way, the show could slowly get to the point of Austin and Ally’s happily-ever-after and see their children, Alex and Ava, become enamored with music along the way.

2 Liv And Maddie

What have Liv & Maddie been doing?

Liv and Maddie Looking Upset

Dove Cameron brilliantly portrayed the Rooney twins in Liv and Maddie, but there wasn’t nearly enough of her across four seasons. The show started with Liv going back to her family and adjusting to her regular life after spending four years in Hollywood. A reboot series could pull a switcheroo and make Maddie a famous basketball player, who had to move back home for whatever reason, and now Liv could experience living in her sister’s shadow. The revival series could also revolve around Joey, Liv and Maddie’s younger brother since he was a scene-stealer in the original show.

1 Sonny With A Chance

Has Sonny stuck to sketch comedy?

Sonny and Tawny as Clerks at a Grocery Store in a So Random Skit in Sonny With A Chance

Sonny with a Chance had a spinoff, So Random!, but without Demi Lovato in the lead role, it wasn’t appreciated much at the time and was canceled after season 1. If the actress agreed to reprise their role for a reboot, it could outshine the previous attempt by a long shot. The revival could follow Sonny as a grown-up comedian, who was once a sketch comedy wonder, but is now struggling to find her next challenge. In this case, the show would be targeted at a more mature audience, but the original viewers are likely to be drawn to the character they have grown up with.
